More women lead, participate and have access to business opportunities to advance sustainable and inclusive growth
UN Women continued dialogue series from the previous year, intensified the focus tailored to demands of the companies and recognized policies and practices through awards. The companies, employing over 10,000 employees, made commitments to embrace WEPs in their business operations. Some of the commitments include strengthening their equal opportunities and non-discrimination policies, targeted approach to increase women in leadership, diversifying suppliers, and conducting gender audit. Policy recommendations were also put forward to Thailand through the WEPs policy roadmap jointly developed between UN Women Thailand, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Office of SMEs Promotion.
The initiative directly contributes to Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision making in political, economic and public life. By 2030, achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value.
