Three criteria are used: per capita income, human assets, and economic vulnerability. i-icon Gender Inequality Index:0.575 GII is a composite metric of gender inequality using three dimensions: reproductive health, empowerment and the labour market. A low GII value indicates low inequality between women and men, and vice-versa. i-icon Gender Development Index:0.723 GDI measures gender inequalities in achievement in three basic dimensions of human development: health, education, and command over economic resources.

Outcome Description

The office wants to implement strategic interventions in order to support the operationalization of the contingency plan of the DAP in response to COVID-19 contributing to the preparation and the establishment of spaces in each prison for the taking in charge of suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19 among detainees, to also promote the reintegration of released prisoners into the community including psychosocial and medical support and finally, to speed up judicial checks and release of detainees in the context of the pandemic emergency.

Although the COVID 19 pandemic is no longer there, the women detention conditions has continued to be an issue for women and girls and a concern for UNWOMEN. Continuous training have been provided to the gender directive committee for them to keep leading and advising the directorate on the safety and improved conditions for women in prisons.
