World Bank Income Classification:Low Income
The World Bank classifies economies for analytical purposes into four income groups: low, lower-middle, upper-middle, and high income. For this purpose it uses gross national income (GNI) per capita data in U.S. dollars, converted from local currency using the World Bank Atlas method, which is applied to smooth exchange rate fluctuations.

In the reporting year, UN Women collaborated with Senegal's National Statistical System (SSN) to integrate gender statistics into the fourth National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (SNDS IV, 2024-2028). This collaboration was part of the process led by the Conseil National de la Statistique (CNS) and ensured gender considerations in two strategic objectives. Additionally, in 2013, UN Women supported Senegal's National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) in conducting the 4th population census. This initiative provided crucial demographic data for evidence-based decision-making, informing policy, programming, and resource allocation aligned with national development plans, VNRs, SDGs, CEDAW, and Beijing commitments.Disclaimer and notes
