For this purpose it uses gross national income (GNI) per capita data in U.S. dollars, converted from local currency using the World Bank Atlas method, which is applied to smooth exchange rate fluctuations. i-icon Least Developed Country:Yes Since 1971, the United Nations has recognized LDCs as a category of States that are deemed highly disadvantaged in their development process, for structural, historical and also geographical reasons. Three criteria are used: per capita income, human assets, and economic vulnerability. i-icon Gender Inequality Index:0.575 GII is a composite metric of gender inequality using three dimensions: reproductive health, empowerment and the labour market. Changes attributed to UNWomen in skills or abilities and capacities of individuals or institutions and/or the availability of new products and services contributing to Production, analysis and use of gender statistics and sex.

In the reporting year, UN Women collaborated with Senegal's National Statistical System (SSN) to integrate gender statistics into the fourth National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (SNDS IV, 2024-2028). This collaboration was part of the process led by the Conseil National de la Statistique (CNS) and ensured gender considerations in two strategic objectives. Additionally, in 2013, UN Women supported Senegal's National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) in conducting the 4th population census. This initiative provided crucial demographic data for evidence-based decision-making, informing policy, programming, and resource allocation aligned with national development plans, VNRs, SDGs, CEDAW, and Beijing commitments.
