Outcome 5: Women participate in and inform decision-making processes & responses related to conflict prevention, protection and peacebuilding in Niger

A total of 1 360 women mediatrices including 160 One hundred and sixty in 2022 have trained and made operational and intervene on issues of conflict prevention and management, mediation, sensitization, promotion and protection of women's and girls' rights, leadership of women and girls, elimination of gender-based violence, consideration of women's and girls' needs in the consolidation process in Tillabery. And In 2022, a total of 14837 Women's and grils were engaged by UN Women in peacebuilding and prevention, IGA, combating harmful practices.

Humanitarian /crisis response planning, frameworks & programming are gender inclusive and responsive

During the year 2022, the Niger Country Office, through the GTG/DH, which it leads, strengthened the capacities of the focal points on the role of the thematic groups in coordination. Also, the Terms of Reference of the GTG/DH have been revised and validated for the revitalization of this group so that it can effectively carry out its coordination mandate in monitoring the implementation of the 2023-2027 CCP. In addition, the WG/DH monitored the implementation of the UNCT SWAP-Gender Scorecard Action Plan as well as provided support for the production of the UNS Reports on the Gender Scorecard and the UN Coordination Newsletter. In 2022, the WGGH led by UN Women and composed of UN agencies (UNFPA, UNDP, UNHCR, WFP, OCHA), government and women-led CSOs strengthened the capacity of its members in gender analysis, cross-cutting protection, PEAS and accountability to affected people. The WGGH also organized an open house on International Women's Day to raise awareness of the role of gender in environmental protection and created its first newsletter in the first quarter. - Two rapid gender analyses were conducted under the lead of UN Women. In accordance with the WGIG's 2022 work plan, two trainings on rapid gender analysis in the regions of Tillabéry and Diffa followed by data collection in Tillabéry with the participation of 8 women-led organizations, 5 UN agencies ? 6 NGOs and 2 ministers.

An enabling environment for implementation of WPS commitments is created in Niger

Significant progress: A new agenda has been developed and validated with the support of UN Women based on lessons learned from the evaluation of the previous agenda. UN Women has supported the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the monitoring and implementation of this agenda. in 2022, with UN Women Ssupport : Important technical support is provided to the National Permanent Secretariat for the operationalization and implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Several impactful initiatives have been carried out, including 1. An international workshop to share experiences and good practices on the implementation of the National Action Plan, which brought together Cameroon, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The general objective is to strengthen the capacities of the members of the National Permanent Secretariat of the National Action Plan and their regional antennas through the sharing of experiences and good practices of actors who have implemented the NAP of the Women's Agenda for Peace and Security. 30 actors working on the Women Peace and Security Agenda and the 18 members of the Secretariat have a better capacity on the implementation of the NAP. It was also an opportunity for the Nigerien authorities to officially install the members of the secretariat and the regional antennas. 2. Technical and operational capacity building. Important technical support was provided to the secretariat to have a better capacity to coordinate initiatives related to the Women, Peace and Security agenda; a video to popularize NAP 2, and audio messages on NAP 2 and physical and financial planning in order to make these documents known to all actors. Also, a map of the actors and computers equipped with software to monitor the interventions of all actors
