Strategic Note Outcome Progress Note Showing data of : 2022

Advancing partnership and resources

Result: Office has advanced partnerships and resources in pursue of its strategic goals. Evidence: Resource mobilization efforts resulted in a new agreement with the U.S. Embassy on VAWG; joint concept note/proposals submitted to Peacebuilding Fund (UNESCO, OHCHR, UN Women), UN Human Security Trust Fund (WFP and UN Women), Migration MPTF (IOM and UN Women); negotiations with WFP - on engendering their programmes are on-going; Office has also become a managing agent for the two CSO grants from the Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund. Donor reports were timely developed and submitted, after approval by RO The major challenge, in addition to the COVID-19, was to speed up implementation of the Spotlight and Financing SDGs Programmes, which were signed with a significant delay, in 2021. Office struggled to catch up and deliver on its commitments in a very limited timeframe. Notably, Phase 1 of the Spotlight and Financing SDGs Programmes were timely and successfully completed by 31st December 2022, thus increasing trust and recognition from donors and partners. Visits of the Regional Director (June 2022), Deputy Regional Director, ai. (October 2022), Regional GRB Advisor (December 2022) and meetings with key government counterparts and donors opened new avenues for cooperation and resource mobilization: the Office developed its Strategic Note (SN) for 2023-2026. Contribution : Programme staff participated in joint resource mobilization with other UN agencies; all staff in SN development workshop and further work on the SN 2023-2026; timely successful completion of the on-going Programmes increased recognition of the UN Women role.
