The office was able to mobilise resources for Women in the informal sector from Private Sector (De Beers PLC) for 2024-2026 ($3,000,000) and for Ending Violence against women and girls and supporting SADC (Euro 300,000) for one year (2024). The refunding of Accelerated Women Micro-Owned Enterprises (AWOME) into Phase III was evident of trust placed on UN Women to make meaning changes for informal women within the LNOB principles. Phase III will consolidate the work undertaken in Phase II which saw a target of 110% being reached - surpassing the 100% target of the 1500 women across the the 3 countries. Phase III will focus on scaling the AWOME model; attracting new partners and institutions to sustain the programme; introducing digital literacy and innovation more intentionaly; exposing women to climate resiience techniques in agriculture and continuation of capacity building for the women and institutions. The EVAW funds will focus on strenghthening institutions and transforming harmful social norms that perpetuate violence against women and girls. SADC will be supported with technical capacity for data harmonisation and collection and analysis with the inclusion of standard EVAW indications in ME frameworks for GEWEDisclaimer and notes
