Conducting a research on VAW with Disabilities with NCW, MOSS, CAPMAS, UNDP & UNFPA which will inform the development of the National Disability agenda of Egypt through developing policy recommendations to support women with disabilities. In light of the latest statistics from CAPMAS showing an increase in divorce rates in Egypt, ECO will conduct research to gain a deeper understanding of the reasons/motivations of Egyptian women for obtaining a divorce, factors that shape a woman/man’s ability to leave a marriage, and the socio-economic consequences of divorce, to provide insights into the problem and develop appropriate interventions. Gender equitable social norms, attitudes, and behaviors at the individual and community level are enhanced
Data reported for 2022 results against this indicator was obtained as part of a learning process on social norms and therefore may not accurately reflect the results obtained. Internal reviews of data collected on social norms across relevant indicators, coupled with external reviews, are informing the design of UN Women’s principled approach to social & gender norms change. This will be reflected in changes to the indicators to be introduced in the Mid-Term Review of the Strategic Plan. Progress on track with most activities complete with the exception of analysis and dissemination of results which will be done in 2022 within the scope of the no cost extension of the "Men and Women for GE" programme. The programme supported government awareness raising efforts including door-knocking campaigns.
