World Bank Income Classification:Low Income
The World Bank classifies economies for analytical purposes into four income groups: low, lower-middle, upper-middle, and high income. For this purpose it uses gross national income (GNI) per capita data in U.S. dollars, converted from local currency using the World Bank Atlas method, which is applied to smooth exchange rate fluctuations.

Women’s participation is enabled through policy and legal frameworks (quota law, its implementing decree, CENI’s gender policy) and through electoral arrangements. Communities, civil society, the media and political parties support women’s role in public life then the number of women leaders increase because discriminatory attitudes evolve, women are better informed and more accepted as legitimate political leaders.

UN Women continued monitoring the implementation of the revised law on quotas in the electoral process in Niger. In 2022, advocacy with the Ministry of Women's Promotion, the National Gender Observatory and CSOs to have : women held 30.1% of the seats in parliament - for 25% provided for by law - and 32.76% at the local level.Disclaimer and notes
