Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture
The CO strengthen its workforce putting the a people centered approach in the work place and ensuring timely recruitments to ease pressure and to allow for a work life balance. The CO focused on diversity as a strength ensuring a diverse team that contributed to its delivery. The CO further embarked team building, training, and flexible working arrangements as key elements that contributed to the overall performance during the year. In order to attract and retain talent, the CO worked on the establishment of stable type contracts focusing more on FTAs most which were established and approved.
The CO's innovation initiative included the e-money programme that helped distribute humanitarian kits to the beneficiaries. With introduction of the new ERP, the CO restructured it business processes to align them to the requirements of the systems creating much more efficiency that contributed to the CO delivery. The CO further established two additional common premises bringing the services closer to the people that we serve in the field and saving resources as a result of the common services in these premises.
Assuring an accountable organization through principled performance
The CO worked to ensure timely implementation of the new ERP which the team believed would be a major contributor to this output on accountability. The CO further worked to support the partners audit preparation and as a result all partners audited received a good audit report affirming the CO's commitment to accountability. The CO further implemented the measures outlined in Risk Register ensuring the safety and security of the teams while also ensuring compliance with the business continuity plan and crisis management (BCCMA) to ensure timely response in the event of any crisis.
Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale
The CO continued its efforts on RM and on partnership formulation bringing in a total of $6m from KOICA and $2m from Japan. The CO further developed some concept notes and proposals during the year that are expected to bring in additional funds in 2024. To strength and accelerate implementation, the CO established 4 new additiional partnerships making a total 7 all that contributed to the CO results. The CO floated another call for proposal to select more partners and this process is expected to conclude in the year 2024.
