Improved management of financial and human resources in pursuit of results
The Country office has filled all planned positions including two Programme Management Specialists, a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer, a Planning and Coordination Specialist, a Programme Coordinator and a Programme Associate for the 3R's project. It is important to highlight that three colleagues previously on SSA contracts have transitioned to better modalities including 1 on FTA position and 2 on SC positions as well as a long serving colleague on SC to FTA position.
In order to strengthen key program portfolios, the CO has engaged short term consultants to provide support to coordination, economic empowerment and normative work that enhanced delivery on planned activities. The completion rate of mandatory courses stood at 92% while the percentage of 2024 PMD completion rate stands at 100%.
In 2024, UN Women Rwanda has further strengthened a culture of risk management, accountability and harmonization of business practices in its operations. Th CO strengthened staff capacity and accountability to deliver results in gender equality and women’s empowerment through various staff training on Results Based Management Training, Financial Reporting and accountability, Joint HR and Operations Managers and Africa - wide EVAW FP Retreat. Staff retreats have enabled employees to better understand organizational policies, procedures, and strategic priorities. Team Building activities have strengthened collaboration among teams and enhanced workplace relationships. It has also enabled colleagues to provide feedback, voice concerns and suggest improvements, hence creating an inclusive environment and boosting staff morale.
The staff welfare survey was the opportunity for the organization to identify staff needs and a channel to address the gaps.
