Effective normative, programmatic, and coordination of products, services, and processes

The Strategic Note (SN) for the UN Women Office in Chile was approved during 2024. The Government of Chile has been a supporter of the work in the country prior to the approval of the SN, providing valuable annual financing for the work of the office since 2017. During 2024, 31% of the Non Core office budget was funded by the Government of Chile although no specific SN funding requests have been made in this new context.

Effective normative, programmatic, and coordination of products, services, and processes

The Government of Chile did not provide SN funding for the Chile Office in 2025 as it had done in prior years. In response, the office optimized the use of all prior resources to ensure the maximum possible rephasing into 2026, safeguarding continuity of operations to the extent feasible. As a result, the office will depend on these rephased resources to sustain its activities during 2026. Additionally, the year concluded during a period of governmental transition following the 2025 presidential elections. At the time of this report, the new administration has not yet been inaugurated. Discussions regarding future funding will be pursued once it is prudent to do so and once the new administration is in place.
