Advancing partnerships and resourcing
In the reporting period, UN Women advanced partnership and resources for more results for gender equality and women empowerment in Moldova. For this the CO entered in three partnership ( as Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs)) with State University of Moldova, National Agency for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GBV Agency) and Consolidated Programme Implementation Unit of IFAD ( CPIU IFAD ) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. The number development partners supporting UN Women in the implementation of the Strategic Note 2023-2027 increased to eight - Sweden, Denmark, UE, Japan, WPHF, PBF, ADA, SDC, with three new Financial Agreements signed during the reporting period. The recourse mobilization efforts culminated wit a total amount of 11.69 mln USD. UN Women Moldova FB page registered 1,693 new followers, with a total of 34508. The Twitter account registered 187 new followers with a total of 5137 followers. The Instagram account has 5151 followers with 918 new followers. Periodic coordination meeting with the key UN Women donors and partners (Sweden EUD, SDC, ADA, Denmark, UN Agencies, etc.), and with representatives of the Government (State Chancellery, MLSP, MF, MFAEI) were maintained for leveraging the better results for gender equality and women empowerment at country level.

In the reporting period, UN Women advanced partnership and resources for more results for gender equality and women empowerment in Moldova. The number development partners supporting UN Women in the implementation of the Strategic Note 2023-2027 increased to nine- Sweden, Denmark, UE, Japan, WPHF, PBF, ADA, SDC, and one new UN2UN Agreement signed during the reporting period with UNDP for the implementation of a joint project financed by Canada. Two MoUs were signed in the reporting period, with two private sectors representatives: 1. EFES Vitanta Moldova Brewery, aiming at support women entrepreneurs in Moldova by providing capacity building, access to financing, and business development opportunities; and 2. Orange Moldova, aiming to promote gender equality and Women's Empowerment Principles and increase digital skills of women, especially those most marginalized, with focus on elder people, through providing digital inclusion and personal development. UN Women Moldova FB page registered 2118 new followers, Twitter account registered 106 new followers, and Instagram gained over 1,800 new followers, confirming strong growth in online visibility and engagement. The Belarus UN Women presence is also covered on distance mode with a local consultant supporting in implementation of activities. In 2025, UN Women significantly strengthened Belarus’s national gender data ecosystem, enabling the country to produce SDG indicators 5.2.1, 5.2.2 and 11.7.2 for the first time and resume monitoring of SDG 5.4.1, revealing key gaps such as women spending 1.7 times more hours on unpaid care work than men. UN Women also strengthened system-wide accountability by leading the UNCT-SWAP Gender Equality Scorecard, which showed 73% of indicators meeting minimum requirements while highlighting areas for improvement, including gender analysis integration, staffing parity, and gender-responsive budgeting

UN Women signed two MoU with Ministry of internal Affairs and Ministry of Finance Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has joined the Global Alliance for Care, as part of the Global Generation Equality movement, following UN Women advocacy efforts. UN Women Moldova FB page registered 1857 new followers, with a total of 34508. The Twitter account registered 187 new followers with a total of 5137 followers. The Instagram account has 5151 followers with 918 new followers. Five main campaigns organized during the reporting period: i) on the role of girls and women in digitalization and their contribution to the development of technologies and innovations as part of the International Women’s Day (IWD); ii) on how to prevent and combat gender-based violence and on the services available for survivors of violence. Iii)the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Girls, iv) the Campaign Against Violence towards Women in Politics, v) and the Roma Women Empowerment Campaign. As well, CO initiated the negotiations with SDC and ADA on potential financing of two UN join projects, currently the project documents being under development. The signature of the FA is expected in the course of 2024 year.
