During the reporting year, UN Women advanced GEWE, influenced partnerships, and garnered support towards GEWE. Significant media visibility with over 500 mentions across top media outlets including coverage which spanned top-tier television networks, including Arise News , Silverbird TV , TVC , NTA , and Channels TV, with special appearances by the UN women representative during key events like the 16 Days of Activism and other international observances, such as the International Day of Rural Women , radio stations such as FRCN, Voice of Nigeria, and Hot FM, along with leading print publications like Daily Independent, This Day, The Sun, Daily Trust, Vanguard, Guardian, and Blueprint , were all critical partners inn advanceing GEWE through their prominent features of UN Women’s activities and achievements financing strategies, to drive the implementation of gender-responsive policies and programs through #FinancingSDG5 , UN Women also expanded its social media presence, gaining over 8,000 followers across platforms. Our social media reach peaked at a record 2.5 million, with the majority of this reach stemming from organic interactions.

In 2025, UN Women Nigeria significantly leveraged and expanded its partnerships, communications, and advocacy capabilities to increase national influence and scale collective action for gender equality results. The office delivered measurable communications performance, generating 800+ media mentions/publications across national, regional, and international platforms, and reaching over 50 million people through coordinated national advocacy campaigns. Digital outreach expanded substantially, delivering 16 million online reach through sustained multi-platform engagement and real-time campaign amplification. Through coalition-based delivery and national platforms such as the Women Political Participation Partners Group, the Development Partners Group on Gender, and the Club of Ambassadors on Gender, the office strengthened shared messaging and partner alignment. This enabled coordinated advocacy across 24 states, supported by the deployment of 240 volunteers, strengthening legitimacy, citizen engagement, and public ownership of reform messaging. As a result, UN Women Nigeria used communications and partnerships as delivery mechanisms to influence national discourse, mobilize constituencies for women’s leadership reforms, and strengthen collective accountability for gender equality outcomes at scale.

During the reporting year,the CO advanced partnerships and influenced non-traditional partners to support gender equality and women's empowerment. Further, the CO increased private sector investment in GBV through the innovative $25 million private-sector GBV fund aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls. The CO further sustained its media engagement as well as other strategic engagements, including initial engagements with the government of Nigeria towards a "financing for gender equality summit" to expand resources towards gender equality and women empowerment.
