    Summary of country programme

    UN Women Morocco’s work is guided by intergovernmental norms and standards on gender equality and women’s empowerment, in support of the 2030 Agenda, grounded on the principle of “Leaving No One Behind” Taking into consideration the need to build back better and sustainably in partnership with national institutions, civil society, private sector and the UNCT, UN Women Morocco builds on its expertise and comparative advantage to advance its triple mandate.  It supports the Government of Morocco to promote gender sensitive governance through the implementation of gender-sensitive public policies and budgets at national and local levels and to generate evidence through gender-sensitive data; to empower women and ensure access to sustainable income and decent work through sustainable and resilient economic activities; to strengthen capacities in preventing violence against women, in protecting and delivering quality essential services to women survivors of violence, engaging women, girls, men and boys equally as active citizens in their communities; and to advocate for normative reform for gender equality.
