Outcome progress note for the year
Enhanced coordination, coherence and accountability of the UN system for commitments to gender equality and women’s empowerment
In 2023, the implementation of the Cooperation Framework between the Government of Chile and the United Nations System began. For UN Women it meant an important positioning within the system because it leads Pillar 4 on gender equality, an unprecedented modality in cooperation frameworks. It also meant leadership in the government as an agency specialized in gender mainstreaming in public policies. Currently, 18 of 22 ministries participate in the activities proposed by pillar 4. It also marked a positioning of the leadership of effect 1.2 on care and social protection, a designation based on the important collaborative work with the government on the National Care System and the citizen dialogues that UN Women implemented throughout the country. It is a challenge to continue strengthening leadership in these matters.
