    Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale

    The implementation of this result is on track; UN-Women continues to effectively leverage and expand its partnerships, communications and advocacy capabilities to increase support for and financing of the gender equality agenda, while securing sustainable resourcing for the delivery of its own mandate. In 2024, UN Women webpage received 118k views, witnessing growth of users 2.1 times; new users account to 38k, active users 39k and user engagement was 54k. Demographics (Top 3): Georgia 26k, Singapore 3k, United States 2k In 2024, the office tracked 620 articles, internet news announcements, tv and radio reports/ programmes covering UN Women's activities in Georgia. In total, there were 542 online news announcements, 49 TV news reports, 6 Radio talk shows and 23 newspaper articles. Number of Facebook posts was 161, reactions 16,349 comments and replies 560, views 10.5M, reach 1.5M and followers 36k. On X, followers 221, posts 54, reactions 41 and engagement rate 5,17%. In 2024, the CO has mobilized around USD 6,572,079 in signed donor agreements. All the new donor agreements have been entered into DAMS and have been accordingly reflected in Quantum and revisions of the CO’s BWP 2024-2025.

    Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale

    The implementation of this result is on track; UN-Women continues to effectively leverage and expand its partnerships, communications and advocacy capabilities to increase support for and financing of the gender equality agenda, while securing sustainable resourcing for the delivery of its own mandate. The total proposed budget of UN Women Georgia CO’s SN at the time of its endorsement (2021-2025) in terms of required non-core resources equalled to USD 18,331,831 of which USD 13,619,977 were mobilized in the end of 2021, additional USD 2,674,406 were mobilized by the end of 2022, additional USD 10,192,288 were mobilized by December 2023. Thus, the proposed SN budget set in 2021 has been bypassed with USD 8,154,840 i.e. 45 per cent. UN Women Communications strategy and the workplan for 2023 has been fully implemented. In the 2023, the CO website has registered 20,000 new users and 48,000 page views (audience being 79% women and 21% men). The CO’s Facebook reach was 666,391. Page visits was 47,365, new likes – 4,432 and total likes – 47,365. Facebook Current Audience Women ~ 90%, age range 22-47 Men ~ 10%, age range 25-35. Further, in 2023 there were 970 articles, internet news announcements, TV and radio reports/ programmes covering UN Women activities in Georgia.

    Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale

    The UN Women Georgia Country Office bypassed its fundraising targets in 2022, having secured a hard pipeline commitment from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) for work in the G&PPL thematic area for 48 months starting in March 2023 with a total budget of USD 4 million, as well as USD 2 million from the Government of Norway for 36 months starting in June 2023. Under the EVAW thematic area, the new phase of the UNJP from the Government of Sweden commenced in July 2022 with a total budget of USD 2,360,725 (scheduled to end in December 2026). The SDC and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADA) are supporting UN Women work in the WEE thematic area, with a hard pipeline donor commitment obtained for an additional USD 2.5 million from the Government of Norway for 36 months starting in June 2023. Under the WPS thematic area, additional resources have been mobilized again from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (September 2022–August 2023) in the amount of USD 210,000. Further, resources have been mobilized from UNDP through the USAID/UNDP “Partnership for Resilience Programme” for the period of July–December 2022 in the amount of USD 103,681 and then again for the period of January–December 2023 in the amount of USD 186,779.56; and also from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs for EVAW work in Abkhazia for the period of December 2022–November 2024 in the amount of USD 200,205. Thus, the total proposed budget of the SN at the time of its endorsement (2021–2025) in terms of non-core resources equaled USD 18,718,815.56, of which USD 13,619,977 was mobilized at the end of 2021 and an additional USD 3,061,390.56 was mobilized by the end of 2022. As of December 2022, more than 170 private companies (about 70,000 employees) are signatories to the Women’s Empowerment Principles: Equality Means Business (WEPs), 66 of which joined in 2022. These companies have an increased understanding of the gender dimension of corporate sustainability and implement initiatives that advance women in the workplace, marketplace and community. A growing number of businesses adapted their policies, programmes and initiatives to create diverse working environments where women and girls can succeed. In addition, the companies were introduced to grass-roots women to provide women entrepreneurs and rural women with free trainings, internships, mentorship, employment and business opportunities in order to achieve more active participation by women in the economy and more inclusive economic growth in the Georgian context. The CO website content and highlights are regularly updated and fully meet the thematic priorities of the CO as well as the RO and HQ. In 2022, the CO website saw a 85.1 per cent increase in new visitors—47,438 new users with 119,629 page views. As for the Facebook page, the following data were generated for 2022 (our audience reach anywhere on FB): our activities were seen 2,627,600 times (posts, comments, shares, etc.), and there were 22,359 page visits (how many times someone searched and viewed the page) and 7,531 new likes. Total likes/follows amounted to 52,978. The current Facebook audience for the page is made up of 90 per cent women aged 18–45 and 10 per cent men aged 25–35. The UN Women Georgia CO Twitter account data show 104 followers, 145 tweets and 5,921 profile visits for 2022. Further, there were 1,168 articles, Internet news announcements and TV and radio reports/programmes covering UN Women activities in Georgia. In total, there were 962 online news announcements, 159 TV news reports, 18 radio news and talk shows and 29 newspaper articles. The most popular human story published on the CO website and shared on FB and Twitter can be found at https://georgia.unwomen.org/en/stories/feature-story/2022/05/grace-hopper-award-motivation-for-girls-seeking-careers-in-ict.

    Increased engagement of partners in support of UN-Women's mandate

    In 2021, in total, 31 videos, 10 success stories and 40 social media cards have been produced and disseminated through the CO’s official Facebook and website channels. Number of Facebook total likes equals to 19 564 (+ 1484 new likes). The number of people who have seen any content associated with the page, unique users for quarter 4 equals 778 359. As a result, during 2021 through web and social media communication channels there have been reached out: 57 761 CO website users, 46 770 website new users, 128 119 CO web-page views, 629 news reports’ coverage in various media outlets and 3 037 971 Facebook reach. In the reporting period UN Women Georgia team held consultations with the representatives of Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Agency (ADA), Government of Norway, USAID, governments of the UK and Sweden. As a result, the following concrete agreements have been reached: a) to continue with the second phase of the cost-share project Women's Economic Empowerment in South Caucasus with SDC and ADA funding for 36 months starting from August 2021 (donor agreements signed with SDC for USD 4 million; and with ADA for EUR 700,000) - signed Agreements uploaded into DAMs. b) to do 6 months' cost-extension of UNJP for Gender Equality (January-June 2022) and use this time to plan the third phase of UNJP for Gender Equality for 36 months starting. The cost-extension of the agreement has been signed between UN MPTF and Sweden for UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality for the period of January-June 2022. The total budget of this cost-extension equals to USD 1,088,151 out of that UN Women share is USD 353,653. c) to amend existing agreement with the government of Norway (covering Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia project) and top it up with USD 2 million for 24 months starting from June 2021 to carry forward the work initiated by UN Women cost-share project Joint Action for Women's Economic Empowerment (JAWE) with Norwegian funding - Agreement signed and uploaded into DAMs. d) to amend existing agreement with the government of UK (Women, Peace and Security programmatic area) and top it up for additional work with security sector institutions as well as expansion of the project's regional (South Caucasus) scope (the amendment to the agreement to be signed in 2022). e) to join UN joint programming in Abkhazia, Georgia for the coming four years with USAID funding, project is led by UNDP (UN Women to sign UN2UN agreement with UNDP in the first half of 2022.
