- During the fourth quarter, UNW CO completed a draft of the new study titled "" Narrative study focusing on the case of the National Care System in Mexico,"" with the primary objective of providing an account of the key characteristics of the public debate on caregiving in Mexico. The study aims to delve into the examination of communication strategies employed by the involved actors and how they construct the narrative that imparts meaning to the proposed policies. This initiative involves conducting an empirical analysis of the frames and narratives surrounding caregiving in Mexico. The starting point for this analysis is the legislative discussion and various events that have contributed to recognizing the public problem revealed by the care crisis. The study is strategically designed to offer comprehensive insights into the dynamics of the public discourse on caregiving and the shaping of narratives surrounding policy proposals, contributing to a nuanced understanding of the caregiving landscape in Mexico. This new study will contribute to disseminate up-to date and innovative knowledge to personnel and counterparts. - UN Women Country Office in Mexico is better prepared for decision-making in the following years, thanks to a new Country Office plan for 2024-2025, which addresses activities, outputs, budget, potential mobilized resources and indicators for results. - UN Women in Mexico carried out continuous programmatic and financial monitoring of the Annual Work Plan and coordinate annual and specific programme reporting. - UN Women in Mexico collaborated in an evaluation regarding results on social norms that certain programmes of the Office had. The results of this evaluationm, which had a gender and feminist perspective were recieved during the last quarter of 2023.

The CO is continuously looking to improve knowledge management with different tools, e.g. a mentoring program, workshops to better integrate the program areas. These tools will be expanded in 2022. The close collaboration between the operations team, particularly procurement team, and the M&E team allows a more efficient processes. The M&E has been in continuous capacity building through different workshops and trainings given by HQ, RO and partners. The alignment of the SN to the new SP 2022-2023 enhanced the knowledge of the whole team to the global UNW priorities. Project Managers, Administrative Assistants, M&E and operations team are well synchronized in the process of monitoring the activities and its programmatic and financial implementation. The process of tools revision occurred during the whole 2021 and the Office at whole levels were involved. During 2021 these revisions included the Procurement area and it improved the coordination already existed. The CO is increasing the ownership of the evaluation processes. This is making more efficient the cases when an evaluation should take place and is also increasing its presence to evaluate non-traditional areas such as the communications campaigns. Office premises are continuously reinforced to have better security standards in cases personnel wishes to assist to the Office. However, teleworking has been the new way pf working and has been successfully worked since its first implementation in march 2020. Additionally, a continuous monitoring system of the vaccination have been carried out and this has demonstrated a high rate of vaccination among the personnel of the CO.

During 2022, the initiative "De Género, Mole y Pozole" contributed to strengthening Mexico’s UNW CO internal knowledge and communication. This was a space that to not only learn about new topics that are relevant to the Office, but to also reflect together on these topics, as a team. During 2022, the Office collaborated with UN Women’s Research and Data Section, our Regional Office, and Country Offices in Brazil to co-organize the UN Women internal webinar series: Understanding gender backlash and its influence on public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean. UN Women in Mexico complied with institutional reporting and monitoring processes and standards. As part of these activities, Country Office reduced the proportion of unmapped financial resources, delivered donor reports on time and was able to develop concept notes and project proposals that comply with institutional standards in results-based management. During the first semester of 2022 return to office premises was a challenge but, the Country Office planned it in a way that provided a smooth and secure transition to all staff, particularly in terms of hygiene measures, a safe environment and protocols for emergency situations.

The Country Office is preparing for the Country Portfolio Evaluation to be executed during 2025. Accessibility and usability to enhance knowledge management processes within UN Women Mexico CO streghthned with internal training sessions delivered to newly onboarded staff, equipping them with essential tools and strategies for effective knowledge management. UN Women in Mexico carried out programmatic and financial monitoring of the Annual Work Plan, based on a monthly monitoring exercise of key performance indicators. The results of these monitoring activities were presented to the Country Representative for decision making.
