    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

    Advancing business transformation:

During the reporting, the CO coordinated the African Girls Can Code (AGCCI) Hackathon, a practical tech competition, showcasing the digital skills of young women across Africa held in Rwanda. The CO featured Ester Melina, an AGCCI alumni from Mozambique highlighting AGCCI's impact on youth development in coding and digital skills. This was a partnership with the Ministry of Education, Human Development (MINEDH), Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Action (MGCAS) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) that organized the coding camps from 20-26th May at the Pedagogical University campus combining technical and motivational sessions. 70 girls from 4 Provinces (Maputo City, Maputo Province, Gaza, and Inhambane) were trained in Web Design, Robotics, Application Design, Scratch, Gender Equality, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cyber Security modules. In addition, as part of the CO's business transformation, the CO continued to leverage common premises to streamline gender equality within other UN Agencies. Following the signing a new sub lease agreement with UNOPS, for the first time UN Women organized and influanced all agencies in Pemba to partipate in a town hall during the 16 days of activism highliging the subject of violence against women and girls in Mozambique. This was the case in Beira and Nampula as well. To highlight the fact that the CO takes an average of 10 business days to complete procurement process except for micro purchasing takes a maximum of two days

    Advancing business transformation:

The CO's innovation initiative included the e-money programme that helped distribute humanitarian kits to the beneficiaries. With introduction of the new ERP, the CO restructured it business processes to align them to the requirements of the systems creating much more efficiency that contributed to the CO delivery. The CO further established two additional common premises bringing the services closer to the people that we serve in the field and saving resources as a result of the common services in these premises.
