Enhanced coordination, coherence and accountability of the UN system for commitments to gender equality and women’s empowerment
UN Women continued to lead UN coordination on GEWE through the following coordination mechanisms: Chairing the Gender Task Force (GTF) and implementing its Action Plan in relation to implementing the commitment of the UNCT towards GWEW. Four meetings were organized for the GTF during 2021; the meetings constituted an excellent platform to share updates from other working groups such as UNDAF working group, the PSEA working group, and humanitarian working groups (i.e. humanitarian gender group (HGG) and Gender Based Violence sub-cluster). Gender focused knowledge products were regularly shared among GTF members to raise awareness of GTF members on latest GEWE trends and also inform programming. Member of the UNCT Data Group. Serving as the Convening Agency for the UN Haya JP (UN Women, UNFPA, UN Habitat, and UNODC) on combating violence against women. Participating in the UN Promoting Productive Employment and Decent Work for Women in Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine Regional Joint Programme Participating in the UN “Mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 on women’s economic participation in the State of Palestine” JP (UNDP, UN Women, FAO and WFP). Participating in the UN Sawasya II JP (UN Women, UNDP, UNICEF) on the Rule of Law. Chairing the Humanitarian Gender Group, which was instrumental in incorporating gender in the humanitarian response in Palestine. Implementing the “Promoting Women’s Equal Access to Economic Opportunities and Decent Work” project jointly with ILO. The project initiated the process of reforming the Labor Law. Participate in the UNTG on Youth Member in the Results Group (RG) 4 on Leaving No One Behind: social development and protection Humanitarian Country Team Advocacy Working Group Participated in the CCA Process Lead the work on the UN SWAP Score Card. The first draft of the report was submitted in December 2021 Provided technical inputs and data to the UNCT confidential reporting to the CRC, where recommendations of the CEDAW committee and those in the CEDAW Coalitions report were highlighted and emphasized. <span lang="EN-IN"
