    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

UN Women conducted Strategic Note (SN) midterm review (MTR) and the report represented both an articulation of the results delivered during the Strategic Note (SN) cycle of 2019-2021 and a vision for action for the country office (CO) moving forward. The findings were that UN Women’s programming across its entire portfolio is relevant and effective, with the three key result areas on which the SN focuses aligned to international, regional and national frameworks and resonating with the needs of women and girls. UN Women is leading in GEWE in South Sudan, through its own programming and through joint UN programs. In general, the CO has been effective in implementing the SN, achieving an 80% implementation rate, in a context and a period of uncertainty and multiple challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has constrained the effectiveness and impact of program implementation, but the CO has been supported by its IPs and found innovative approaches to work despite the constraints of the pandemic. The findings and recommendations will be reflected in the programmes of annual work plan 2022 as well as new strategic note.
