Outcome progress note for the year
By 2025, people in North Macedonia have universal access to rights- based quality social services – healthcare, education, and necessary social and child protection - rooted in systems resilient to emergencies (UNSDCF Outcome 2)
During the reporting year, some progress was made in providing rights-based quality services to women survivors of violence. Eight women have begun benefitting from specialized services provided in line with the standards of the Istanbul Convention, with focus on social mentoring for economic reintegration and empowerment. One woman has obtained employment in a private company, while negotiations have been ongoing for the second woman. The social mentoring programme for economic reintegration (2 nd cycle) is a continuation of the pilot programme implemented during 2021-2023 and is designed to meet the unique needs of survivors. It is implemented by UN Women partner CSO Association for Research, Communications and Development – PUBLIC. https://eca.unwomen.org/en/stories/interview/2024/12/interview-women-need-systems-that-believe-and-support-them-free-from-stigma-and-judgment Considering the progress made to date, the original strategy and theory of change for this outcome is still applicable.
