Outcome insights and achievements
Outcome progress note for the year
Women are promoted as leaders in gender-sensitive (Federal and State) legislative, political and governance institutions in Nigeria.
The outcome was not fully achieved in 2021. However, during the period under review, progress was made to strengthen skills of women leaders in parliament to better advocate and lobby for the promotion of women as leaders in legislative, political and governance institutions at the state and federal levels in Nigeria. 2 8 female legislators were equipped with skills to enhance their leadership roles in the state and national assemblies during a session on lobbying and lawmaking, organized by UN Women in collaboration with the National Institute of Legislative and Development Studies (NILDS) and UNDP. Several participants noted that they're more able to effectively advocate for gender sensitive laws in parliament.
