Principled Performance
In 2024, UN Women South Sudan successfully demonstrated its accountability and trustworthiness in managing financial and other resources with integrity. Through the implementation of a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (M&E) system, the Country Office effectively tracked progress towards both project-specific and organizational outcomes. Each program was guided by clearly defined indicators, baselines, and targets, with regular monitoring conducted to assess progress. Furthermore, 69% of donor reports were submitted on time, providing comprehensive details not only on financial expenditures but also on the qualitative and quantitative impacts of the programs. Additionally, the office established an accountability mechanism for the South Sudan Women’s Social and Economic Empowerment Project (SSWSEEP) project, enabling the solicitation of beneficiary feedback. This mechanism ensured that programs were both effective and responsive to the needs of local communities, particularly women and girls, thereby reinforcing UN Women South Sudan's commitment to transparency and the responsible use of resources.
Principled Performance
In 2025, UN Women South Sudan made notable progress across its operational and programmatic outputs. Implementation of Regular Resources was strong, achieving 98% of planned activities, reflecting effective utilization in line with approved plans. Other Resources recorded 58% implementation, indicating satisfactory progress with no critical risks. Risk management remained robust, with 100% of risk units fully compliant with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policies and frameworks, demonstrating effective integration of risk practices across the organization. All long-outstanding internal and external audit recommendations requiring management action were successfully addressed, ensuring full compliance. Operationally, the country office maintained 100% adherence to business continuity, safety, health, and security protocols, supported by updated documents and revised procedures approved by BCCMA. Environmental and social standards were applied in 80% of country office programmes, with the transition to green energy, particularly solar, underway and expected to be completed by Q1 2026. Donor reporting also showed positive results, with 86% of reports submitted on time and similar levels of positive feedback received from key partners, including the PBF, Government of Norway, World Bank, African Development Bank, and Japan, underscoring UN Women’s commitment to accountability and excellence in program delivery.
