Enhanced coordination, coherence and accountability of the UN system for commitments to gender equality and women’s empowerment
UN Women has had a prominent participation in the inter-agency coordination framework as part of the UNCT and in the technical working groups, which has meant expanding internal advocacy: 1) In the Development Cooperation Framework 2019-2022 Results Groups. In spatial: - Economic Cluster: the main focus of the work plan is on women's labor participation and economic empowerment of young women because of COVID. In this regard UN Women leads the MPTF is economic recovery which is part of the economic cluster planning. - Institutional Group. UN Women leads this working group, articulating the initiatives of the UN System in Chile in support of the Constituent Process. 2) In the cross-cutting groups, UN Women participates in: - Human Rights and Gender Group: leads gender mainstreaming processes and has developed tools to include this approach in the elaboration of the CCA of the new cooperation framework. - Communications Group: Leads the 8M and 25N campaigns. - Monitoring and Evaluation Group: Participates in the reports and evaluations of the Cooperation Framework. 3) Interagency Projects: UN Women leads or supports the following projects: - MPTF COVID 19 for the economic reintegration of young women. UN Women leads and ECLAC, ILO and FAO participate. - Gender and Climate Change Project: UN Women leads and FAO and UNDP participate. - R4V Platform and other intergovernmental coordination bodies on migration. UN Women participates as an active member in the areas of economic empowerment, prevention of violence and protection of victims and has committed to prepare a Rapid Gender Assessment by 2022. - NODO project on older persons: UN Women collaborated in assessing the inclusion of the gender approach.
