Advancing partnerships &resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale

In 2023, strong progress has been made towards the achievement of this output through strategic partnerships with an expanded network of CSOs (read more under Narrative questions and DRF Statements), private sector and media. 40 women’s organizations across Ukraine accessed over $8 million for their needs and priorities as a result of Country Office partnership, and engaged with over 150 women’s organizations through various trainings, advocacy initiatives and dialogues with duty bearers to advance gender equality and empowerment of women. Nine new private sector companies endorsed the (WEPs), raising the total number of WEPs signatories in Ukraine to 30 , as the Office expanded its private partners network through advocacy campaigns and providing technical advice for the implementation of Women’s Economic Empowerment activities. In total, more than 56,000 women are economically empowered, through livelihood recovery support, skills development, business support, and access to employment. UN Women contributed to this important result by partnering with civil society and the private sector to conduct a variety of activities including coaching, mentoring, training, and the implementation of WEPs plans. In 2023, the CO mobilized a total of $2,452,426 (coming from the Governments of Sweden, Poland and France) as direct SN funding. This allowed the CO the flexibility to maintain the staff and create new positions, to respond to emerging security concerns and provide humanitarian and recovery assistance.
