    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

By 2026, more people, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized, have a more equitable access to and utilization of quality, inclusive, resilient, gender- and shock responsive, social protection and essential social services (CF 1)

During the reporting period, CO have supported the multisectoral response, with six district-level coordination meetings and one provincial coordination meeting, engaging 31 government officials from the health, justice, social action, and protection sectors. In addition, 311 service providers —including health professionals, social workers, police officers, traditional birth attendants, and community and religious leaders—were trained on human rights, survivor-centred case management, protection principles, and positive masculinities, strengthening institutional capacity and promoting consistent application of survivor-centred protocols that ensure confidentiality, safety, and dignity. These efforts primarily benefit women and girls, particularly GBV survivors, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and conflict-affected populations in Cabo Delgado, who face heightened barriers to accessing protection and essential services. As a result of strengthened coordination and functional referral mechanisms, 173 GBV cases involving women and girls were identified, referred, and supported through multisectoral response systems. The cases included survivors of sexual, physical, psychological, and economic violence, early marriage, and vulnerable children, demonstrating that services reached individuals with diverse protection needs. This figure—across six districts over six months—exceeds typical provincial reporting levels (8–20 cases per month across 17 districts), suggesting improved community trust, safer disclosure, and more functional referral pathways rather than increased incidence of violence.

By 2026, more people, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized, have a more equitable access to and utilization of quality, inclusive, resilient, gender- and shock responsive, social protection and essential social services (CF 1)

CO has continued its support for victims of gender based violence to have more access to the existing services. The country has 26 CAIS (One Stop Centre), but official data on GBV (from 2023 DHS), as the GBV model is yet to be released whitin the first semester 2024

By 2026, more people, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalized, have a more equitable access to and utilization of quality, inclusive, resilient, gender- and shock responsive, social protection and essential social services (CF 1)

CO has continued providing technical and financial support to victims of gender-based violence to have more access to the existing services and to demand for quality services. UN Women Mozambique continued contributing for improvements in the access to quality essential socials services by supporting the capacity of the Department for Assistance of Family and Minors Victims of Violence (DAFMVV) in the Districts of Mocímboa da Praia, Palma, Muidumbe, Nangade e Macomia in Cabo Delgado Province. These districts have severely been affected by the conflict because of attacks by Non-State Armed Groups (NSAG). This included provision of 10 motorbikes, seven tents, seven printer and office furniture and consumables. More work expected to continue in 2025 with delivery of training on integrated assistance to survivors of violence in the Province of Cabo Delgado, this will be done in partnership with WROs and the Ministry of Gender.
