Financing barriers removed and women’s capacity to invest in climate-resilient agriculture increased. (FPI)

Barriers to small holder women farmers and entrepreneurs is diminishing following the enhanced capacities of women to invest in climate -resilient agriculture. Women through the use of good agricultural practices have seen gains in their horticulture and sunflower production. As a result women's confidence and ability to apply for loans from the public and private financial institutions has increased as outlined below: One Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society (AMCOS) secured a loan from the Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank worth TZS 153 million which is equivalent to USD 66,550. Ikungi District Council extended a loan to Masenga Women group worth TZS 2 million which is equivalent to USD 870 to support the horticulture production. Msalala District Council extended a loan to Lumolumo Women group worth TZS 10 million which is equivalent to USD 4,350 to support the horticultural production and other entrepreneurial activities.
