    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture :

With the support and guidance from ESARO office, UNW Somalia recruited international and national positions (including consultant and UNV), there is also ongoing recruitment of Country Programme Manager to be completed Q1 2025. All UN Women Staff in Somalia completed their 2024 PMDs on time as well as Service Contract performance evaluation. Most of the staff (including newly recruited) have completed the mandatory courses. However, few staff are working toward completion next Q1 2025 (see attached report from AGORA).

Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture :

The Office prioritized staff induction, mentoring, and capacity-building throughout 2025, with a particular focus on strengthening technical expertise in WPS, EVAWG, LEAP, humanitarian action, and resource mobilization. A zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), harassment, and abuse of authority was upheld through annual compliance certifications, mandatory staff training, and strengthened grievance and reporting mechanisms. Staff well-being was further supported through the implementation of a duty-of-care plan addressing risks associated with high-security environments, complemented by Regional Office and Headquarters-led wellness initiatives.

Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture :

UN Women Somalia office support involves fostering an environment where every member feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents through initiatives of diversity and inclusivity, training and policies that promote equal opportunities and work-life balance.
