UN Women’s Cambodia programme presence supports the country's gender equality agenda amid rapid economic growth and governance reform. Active nationwide, it seeks to address persistent inequalities in institutional structures and leadership, economic empowerment and protection from violence.
The programme prioritizes women’s leadership and systematic gender mainstreaming, economic and climate resilience, and ending violence against women. Key approaches include feminist movement-building, gender-responsive policy and actions, and social transformation by strengthening community-based women's networks and advocacy grounded in normative frameworks.
UN Women collaborates with government ministries, women’s organizations, UN entities and the private sector to drive policy reform and service delivery. Programmes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, including joint programmes, enhance capacity-building and advocacy. Strategic partnerships strengthen data systems, amplify women’s voices, and promote inclusive governance and long-term, sustainable economic development.
