UN Women’s Chile Strategic Note 2024–2026 supports national commitments to gender equality and women's rights, working closely with different sectors on gender mainstreaming.
Focused on women's economic, political and physical autonomy, and the women, peace and security agenda, the programme addresses gender inequalities through structural reforms related to the care economy, integral violence, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and leadership, among other issues. A territorial approach is central and includes work with migrant, Indigenous, rural and young women.
UN Women co-leads the Gender Equality Pillar of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and engages with 76 per cent of national ministries. It works on laws, public policies and advocacy, including on gender-based violence, care systems, gender-responsive budgets, UN Security Council resolution 1325 and feminist foreign policy.
