Summary of country programme

In alignment with the UN Strategic Plan (2023–2025) and Eswatini’s National Development Plan (2023/24–2027/28), UN Women enhances social and human capital development and sustainable livelihoods.

It focuses on ending violence against women and girls, advancing women’s economic empowerment and addressing HIV. Key interventions support localization and the monitoring of global and regional commitments to gender equality and women’s empowerment. Primary locations for implementation comprise national institutions and communities most affected by gender-based violence and HIV.

UN Women collaborates closely with the Resident Coordinator’s Office, the Gender Theme Group, UNAIDS, World Health Organization, youth-led civil society organizations and the national Gender-Based Violence Sector Working Group. It drives impact through coordinated programming, catalytic financing for women-led platforms, and digital innovations supporting political participation and the localization of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.
