UN Women’s Mexico Strategic Note 2020–2025 aims to advance gender equality and women's empowerment through women's political participation, economic empowerment, ending violence against women, humanitarian action, and peace and security.
Additional priorities include normative frameworks, care systems, gender statistics and gender-responsive climate resilience. The programme operates in urban and rural areas, with a special emphasis on Indigenous and marginalized communities.
Key partners include national and local governments, legislative bodies, civil society, UN entities, embassies and international cooperation agencies, the private sector and academia. Collaborations enhance programme effectiveness and sustainability through policy advocacy, inclusive policy reform and joint initiatives. UN Women co-leads the Equality and Inclusion Results Group and the Gender Thematic Group under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
