23 out of 24 provincial mechanisms for gender equality and the advancement of women now exchange good practices, collaborate and work together for gender equality and women’s empowerment, thanks to the support provided by UN Women through a federal dialogue process.

Assuring an accountable organization through principled performance

Activities carried out during 2024 enabled the Argentina CO to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, providing higher-quality support to programs and their objectives. The implemented measures, results-oriented, not only strengthen the achievement of strategic goals but also pave the way for new opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and workflows, reducing risks and enhancing the impact of the office's actions.

Advancing partnerships & resourcing; Effectively influencing for impact & scale

UN Women in Argentina obtained 293 mentions in the media, but didn’t reach the 2024 target. UN Women sustained its visibility in some of the most important media in the country such as Clarin, la Nación, Infobae, Cronista, EFE, Chequeado, Página 12, Telefe, AdLatina, Tiempo Argentino, La Voz del Interior, Yahoo, Xinhua. On March 8, highlights an article on public TV about the event organized by the government at the Argentine Foreign Ministry and an opinion article and a half-page ad in the print version of the Clarin newspaper. In addition, Forbes published an interview with the regional director of UN Women for the Americas and the Caribbean, María Noel Vaeza, during her visit to Argentina and her participation in Promujer's GLI Forum. In 2024, UN Women in Argentina added 10.909 new followers in all its social networks, reaching a total of 68.002 followers across all its platforms. Instagram was the network that increased its followers the most this year (10.231) during 2024, surpassing the target. The number of visits to the web page cannot be quantified because UN Women in Argentina does not have its own web page.

Nurturing an empowered workforce and advancing an inclusive UN-Women culture

The CO team has taken ownership of the office space, using team-building activities and OIC missions to boost in-person attendance and foster collaboration across disciplines and tasks. Based on the 2024 results, the office is gathering insights to plan improvements ahead of the February 2025 Kick-Off. This initiative aims to strengthen the team’s capacity to maintain a healthy, diverse, and inclusive workplace, promoting a respectful environment and improving work-life balance.
