The country Office has conducted knowledge generation through two main processes, the Country Portfolio Evaluation(CPE) and the Country Gender Equality Profile(CGEP) and other field visits from which findings, lessons learned and good practices enabled the co to enhance quality of programmes,
Improved management of financial and human resources in pursuit of results
Burundi Country Office invested in two main activities to ensure a smooth management of financial and human resources: 1. Increase technical knowledge and skills for personnel through face-to-face trainings as well as online webinars and eperience exchange within various Community of Practices. 2. Interagency collaboration which led to the use of more than 20 LTAs. This led to a significant gain in time and cost of transactions.
Global normative frameworks and gender-responsive laws, policies and institutions: A comprehensive and dynamic set of global norms and standards on gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls is strengthened and translated into gender-responsive laws, policies, and institutions.
Laws, policies, frameworks and other legislative/policy processes of the European Union either include a gender perspective or directly target gender equality, thanks to continuous and strong engagement of UN Women BLO in these processes.
