    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

In 2021 UN Women Indonesia uses the result of a WPS Project Evaluation and Scoping Study to inform the development of a programme on resilience and peace-humanitarian nexus. The information, particularly on selection of geographic areas and strength and weaknesses of the programme implementation in terms of Women's Economic Empowerment pillar (weakness) and building youth movement (strength) is used to inform the project location and the design of the programme. The project proposal for Resilience, Peace and Humanitarian Nexus was proposed to KOICA who confirmed the acceptance of this proposal for funding in 2023. RBM principles have also been integrated for development of new project (L'Oreal Fondation) that focuses on empowering women migrant workers economically, as well as the utilization of RBM in developing project management framework in a project on women's entrepreneurship development (Alipay Foundation funded with China Office).

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

In this reporting period, the Country office is able to complete the evaluability assessment of one of the largest project funded by KOICA (WE Nexus), the evaluability assessment is able to captured key gaps in the development of indicators and gaps in data collection for monitoring.

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

In this reporting year, UN Women Indonesia Country Office have developed high quality knowledge products as part of policy advocacy, such as to on the Lingering Gendered Impact of the Pandemic that used Rapid Gender Assessment to be presented to the Government of Indonesia. As well as the in-depth knowledge and insight on the Gendered Barriers for Women Impact Entrepreneurs. These Studies have resulted in garnering support from the Government to prioritize the digital transformation with gender perspectives, as well as increased the profile of UN Women as the go-to organization on strong analysis, such as the interest from Asia Venture Philantropy Network (AVPN) to lauch the Gender Lens in Philantropy Giving during the B20 High Level Meeting in Bali.

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

In this reporting year, UN Women Indonesia Country Office started the programme "Empowered Women for Sustainable Peace" (funded by KOICA) using the evidence and data from at thorough baseline and scoping study done in the previous year. One of the key informations used in the implementation is the model/focus of intervention based on context and situational analysis of gender equality in the targeted area.

High quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, results-based management and evaluation

Informed by the knowledge generated from "Feminist Participatory Action Research" study in the project sites of WeNexus in West Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara, the Country Office was able to mobilize support from local authorities (village heads) through advocacy of young people who are participating in the research, due to their enhanced capacity in evidence-based advocacy. Issues pertaining gender equality, food insecurity and access to health service were proposed by these young researchers/activists, while the programme also benefited from the increased support from the authorities as well as strengthened the contribution of the programme WeNExus in promoting norms change around young people's perception on women's leadership in peace and governance. Using human design to co-design the solution to increase women's leadership in State Owned Enterprises, UN Women CO was able to facilitate the internal change of the 12 SOEs in developing policies on Respectful Work Place and Family Friendly Work Place. These policies were timely and necessary to move the needle in addressing persistent low female labour participation and leadership in big industry in Indonesia, ensuring that private sectors created support for women to grow and thrive in supporting environment as well as responding to the needs to recognize and reduce unpaid care work of women employees through provision of creches. This initiative had also created opportunity to pilot test a positive norms change through additional paternity leaves in male dominated sector (infrastructure and housing).
