India Office has continued to maintain a good turnaround time for the recruitment of SC and SSA staff. While the FT process is still very time consuming and can take between 4-6 months depending on the suitability of candidates and their ability to join, there is far greater efficiency in concluding an end-to-end recruitment process of SC and SSAs. India office recruited workforce embodying UN values and further achieves to create and inclusive UN-Women culture within the office.

Effective normative, programmatic and coordination products, services and processes: UN-Women efficiently and effectively discharges of all business processes that advance integrated delivery

UN Women’s position as a thought leader on gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE) was demonstrated through leveraging its convening and coordination role to implement the GEWE across the UN system in India. UNW lead the Outcome 2 for mainstreaming GEWE thourgh inter agency mechanims of GTT, PSEA and gender parity. Effective delivery of UN Women’s mandate, including operations and coordination, has further strengthened the Country Office’s position as a reliable partner to key development partners that is MWCD, States of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu resulting in funding from donors e.g. EU, BMGF, GIZ and establishment of Industry Coalitions such as Textile Industry Coalition (TIC) by Government of Tamil Nadu. UNW engagement with the Indian Members of Parliament lead to knowledge exchange visits with Government of Norway. A knowledge mission between India and Egypt offered opportunities showcasing In d ian best practices in solar energy (Rajasthan) an d combating gen d er-base d violence an d empowering women in the tea in d ustry (Assam). This collaboration, further strengthene d by high-level meetings with In d ian government bo d ies, aims to accelerate global gen d er equality efforts.
