Nurturing an empowered Workforce and advancing an inclusive UN Women culture
In 2024, the office fostered an inclusive and empowered workforce by facilitating regular staff meetings and activities that encouraged open dialogue and active participation. Staff were provided opportunities to voice concerns, while senior management maintained accessibility for individual consultations to address specific issues. These efforts resulted in strengthened communication, enhanced workforce engagement, and a supportive organizational culture focused on empowerment and inclusivity.
Effective normative, programmatic and coordination products, services and processes
UN Women’s normative mandate was effectively demonstrated through its leadership in facilitating the national 30-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA). The BPfA comprehensive review process produced a national report that captured the voices and priorities of a wide range of partners, including government agencies, CSOs, and international organizations. This review identified key priority areas for action, assessed progress, and highlighted emerging challenges. Its actionable recommendations directly informed the development of two critical national documents: the National Action Plan on Gender Equality (2025–2027) and the National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 (2025–2027) . Additionally, the care economy analysis supported by UN Women led to the inclusion of childcare vouchers, addressing one of the pressing challenges in women's economic empowerment.
UN Women jointly with the Ministry of Labour, Social Welfare, and Migration (MLSWM) and its inter-ministerial working group, led the national 30-year review of the BPfA, ensuring alignment with international methodologies and best practices by providing expertise on thematic areas and facilitating knowledge exchange.
