By 2025, people in North Macedonia have universal access to rights- based quality social services – healthcare, education, and necessary social and child protection - rooted in systems resilient to emergencies (UNSDCF Outcome 2)
During the reporting year, women survivors of violence achieved strengthened economic reintegration and improved access to rights-based, quality support services aligned with the principles and service standards of the Istanbul Convention. Eight women survivors enhanced their economic independence and recovery pathways through tailored mentoring support responding to their individual needs and priorities. As a result, seven participants obtained and sustained stable employment by the end of the cycle — five in the business sector, one in public administration, and one as a freelancer — demonstrating increased economic security and tangible progress toward long-term recovery and social inclusion. All eight mentees reported high levels of benefit and satisfaction, reflecting increased confidence and capacity to pursue sustainable livelihoods. These results were enabled through UN Women’s support to the second cycle of the social mentoring programme for economic reintegration and empowerment, implemented in partnership with the Association for Research, Communications and Development – PUBLIC. https://eca.unwomen.org/en/stories/interview/2025/12/for-all-women-and-girls-klimentina-ilijevski-on-empowering-women-survivors-of-violence-to-rebuild-their-lives
