    Outcome insights and achievements

Outcome progress note for the year

    Advancing business transformation

In 2025, in light of the cessation of institutional funding from Denmark and Sweden — amounting to more than 5.7 million USD since 2024 — and in order to respond to the growing needs of government partners and communities, UN Women Mali undertook a restructuring of its organizational chart. This reorganization enabled a more strategic use of the available human resources, who are now working tirelessly across five thematic priority areas: women’s governance and leadership, women’s economic empowerment, elimination of violence against women, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, and gender in humanitarian action.

    Advancing business transformation

In order to meet the growing needs of government partners and target communities in terms of gender promotion and women's economic empowerment, the UN Women Mali office undertook a restructuring of its organizational chart during 2023. This has provided the necessary human resources for the 5 thematic priorities: Governance and women's leadership, women's economic empowerment, ending violence against women, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, and gender in humanitarian action. In addition, and in order to strengthen the strategic positioning of the UN Women office in the context of the transition linked to the definitive departure of MINUSMA, Thematic Experts in the field of Women Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action were made available to the office during the second half of 2023. This made it possible to maintain the office's involvement in strategic reflections with the government and other stakeholders.

High quality of programmes through Knowledge innovation results based Management and Evaluation

The project and the program management has been improved through the strengthening of the monitoring system, increased focus on results through the development of monitoring and evaluation tools and training on monitoring and reporting. Knowledge products (monitoring plan, report and database development guide, periodic narrative and donor reports (25 reports produced for 2022), study reports, support to the development of results frameworks, support to project selection through the Local Project Appraisal Committee (LPAC) and training sessions for IPs contributed to the achievement of this result. The 2023-2024 AWP was also developed taking into account the results of the mid term review of our Strategic Note, the new Strategic Plan 2022-2025 and the UNSDCF outcomes. This alignment ensures the implementation of results-based projects and programs. Four project and program evaluation was conducted this year with one final report finalized and the three others evaluation are ongoing until 2023.
