    The Gender Equality and Women Empowerment coordination system in Malawi coherently and systematically contributes to advancing gender equality and the empowerment of Women and girls

    Through a strengthened and coherent Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment coordination system in Malawi, the country has made measurable progress in advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls . E videnced by strengthened leadership of the UN Gender Theme Group, expanded financing and technical support to young feminist network, and high-level feminist financing dialogues that catalysed the Chief Kachindamoto Fund to accelerate efforts to end child marriage. This system ensures that interventions are systematically aligned, stakeholders are effectively coordinated, and resources are strategically utilized, resulting in tangible improvements in women’s participation, opportunities, and access to services as demonstrated by coordinated high-level dialogues with key donors that informed the creation of the Chief Kachindamoto Fund to accelerate e fforts to end child marriage . As a key result, the coordination framework contributes directly to a more enabling environment for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls across sectors.

    The engendering of the CCA has provided a solid foundation by integrating gender analysis across all sectors, ensuring that gender considerations are addressed comprehensively. The adoption of tools such as Gender Equality Scorecard as well as the training of UNCT members in Gender Maker among others has strengthened the ability of the UNCT members to operationalize gender focused frameworks effectively.
