Enhanced quality of programmes through knowledge, innovation, RBM and evaluation in Niger

In 2021, UN Women for the first time has taken the initiative to conduct a final evaluation of its strategic note at the end of its implementation to better guide the development of the new note. The evaluation has started well and is in the validation phase of the inception report with support from the region. This initiative was taken to ensure that the office capitalizes on the achievements, lessons and challenges of the implementation of this note to better plan the new strategy and identify the best ways to strategically position the office in the field of gender in Niger. UN Women Niger has also initiated three (3) evaluations of these projects at the end of implementation. Both projects have been extended at no cost and their evaluations will be finalized in 2022. The Office is also fully involved in evaluations of joint projects and other documents (UNDAF and PDES) at the inter-agency and national levels to assess the level of gender mainstreaming and ensure better national replanning at the level of the different consultation frameworks. The office intends to capitalize on the results and recommendations from these different evaluations to ensure that gender will be systematically addressed in any future planning (projects, joint projects, the Strategic Note, UNSDCF and the Niger PDES). The key results, good practices and recommendations of these evaluations will be widely shared through communication materials (newsletters, capitalization sheet, Gender Café, etc.) and will feed the Knowledge Center initiated for this purpose.
