SN Outcome 3. Palestinian governance institutions, processes, and mechanisms at all levels are more democratic, rights-based, inclusive, and accountable. (UNSDCF Outcome 3)
To achieved Outcome 3, within a three-year period, UN Women is committed to deliver on the following intermediate outputs: Output 3.1. Women (including young women), young men and WROs have increased leadership and participation in humanitarian, political, decision-making and peacebuilding processes, across the HDP Nexus. Output 3.2. More women and girls have increased access to justice and policing that are available, accessible, coordinated, affordable, of high quality, across the HDP nexus. Output 3.3. National and international stakeholders, civil society, WROs, media and audit institutions have greater capacity to promote accountability in the implementation of women's fundamental rights in accordance with international normative frameworks.

The implementation of this Outcome has been severely impacted by the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023. The war in Gaza meant that the existing governance institutions, processes and mechanisms may no longer be relevant or sufficiently responsive to implement this Outcome. Further evaluation is needed after the post-war governance structure takes place. At the same time, UN Women - as the rest of the UN - is not sufficiently able to influence this process.Disclaimer and notes
