    Empowered People and Products

    UN Women, through its Human Resources and leadership teams, ensured the consistent delivery of wellbeing programs, recognition activities, and strategic recruitment. The office demonstrated strong coordination and responsiveness in addressing staff needs, promoting inclusivity, and embedding a culture of care and empowerment. Evidence: Attendance records and feedback from monthly wellbeing sessions Documentation of achievement and challenge discussion forums Records of staff recognition initiatives and awards Reports on RD and HRBP visits and roundtable discussions Recruitment records for UNVs and consultants Event documentation for the Head of Office retirement celebration Key Achievements: Monthly Staff Wellbeing Sessions: Throughout the year, the office successfully conducted wellbeing sessions every month for all staff members. These sessions, facilitated by wellness experts and counselors, focused on mental health, stress management, and work-life balance. They provided a safe space for staff to share experiences, build resilience, and strengthen psychological safety within the workplace. Celebration and Reflection Forums: Regular forums were organized to celebrate achievements and openly discuss challenges encountered in delivering work plans. These sessions encouraged transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning, reinforcing the office’s commitment to inclusivity and collective growth. Recognition of Good Performance: The office implemented structured recognition initiatives to acknowledge outstanding contributions and exemplary performance. This not only boosted morale but also cultivated a culture of appreciation and motivation across teams. Leadership Engagement: The year featured high-level engagement with visits from the Regional Director (RD) and the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). These visits included roundtable discussions with staff, providing an opportunity for open dialogue on organizational priorities, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Celebration of Leadership Legacy: The office celebrated the retirement of the Head of Office, honoring eight years of impactful service in Tanzania. This event highlighted the significant contributions made under their leadership and reinforced the value of recognizing long-term dedication. Strategic Recruitment: To strengthen operational capacity, the office successfully recruited two international UN Volunteers and nine consultants, including international experts who provided critical technical support to the Country Office. These recruitments ensured the delivery of high-quality programs and enhanced the office’s ability to meet strategic objectives.

    The empowered workforce has proven to be a catalyst for developmet of new programmes in Tanzania. The increased number of skilled and dedicated employees within our team has allowed us to explore new opportunities and design innovative programs. These initiatives directly address the needs of the communities we serve and contribute to the advancement of gender equality in Tanzania. The increased recruitment of new employees and investment in staff development has not only strengthened the foundation of UN Women Tanzania but has also fueled the creation of impactful programs in Mainland and Zanzibar.
