UN Women’s Yemen Strategic Note 2025–2026 strives to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in regions of the country affected by conflict and humanitarian crisis. It aims to restore rights, agency and resilience.

The programme focuses on three pillars: women’s leadership in peacebuilding, protection from gender-based violence and economic empowerment. Interventions target highly vulnerable populations in conflict zones, prioritizing internally displaced women and other marginalized groups. Strategies include capacity-building, gender-responsive humanitarian action and support for women-led civil society initiatives.

UN Women works closely with local non-governmental organizations, humanitarian partners and UN entities under the Yemen Cooperation Framework. Partnerships with women’s rights organizations are central to work on inclusive peacebuilding and social cohesion. Strategic Note direct funding and joint programming enhance sustainability, while localized approaches help to strengthen systems and amplify women’s voices in the crisis response.
