Data reported for 2022 results against this indicator was obtained as part of a learning process on social norms and therefore may not accurately reflect the results obtained. Internal reviews of data collected on social norms across relevant indicators, coupled with external reviews, are informing the design of UN Women’s principled approach to social & gender norms change. This will be reflected in changes to the indicators to be introduced in the Mid-Term Review of the Strategic Plan.

Though the Spotlight Programme, in 2022, progress has been made in creating the conditions for strengthening the legal and statutory environment in favor of the elimination of violence against women and girls. The country now has the preliminary report of an analysis of the legislative and legal framework on women's rights in the light of international standards and principles. In addition knowledge resources and tools have been created, piloted and capacity building sessions conducted to strenghten institutional capacities on gender-sensitive programming and budgeting (GRB) and Violence Against Women and Girls [VAWG]. Continued collaboration with civil society organizations has made it possible to further increase people's access to information and education on the prevention of violence against women and girls, including domestic violence, in the program intervention areas.Disclaimer and notes
