• Implement operational activities including support for the development and implementation of gender-sensitive laws, policies, strategies, programs and projects;

• Coordinate increased gender mainstream, accountability and results within the UN system for gender equality and women's empowerment.

UN Women Kazakhstan activities support national development priorities and implementation of Kazakhstan’s international gender equality commitments, particularly in:

•    Women’s economic empowerment

•    National planning and budgeting

Also, UN Women Kazakhstan oversees the work of the UN inter-agency and extended Gender Thematic Groups, coordinates initiatives with CSOs through the Civil Society Advisory Groups, implements awareness raising and advocacy initiatives on gender equality, and collaborates with the private sector to promote women’s economic empowerment.
