The World Bank classifies economies for analytical purposes into four income groups: low, lower-middle, upper-middle, and high income. For this purpose it uses gross national income (GNI) per capita data in U.S. dollars, converted from local currency using the World Bank Atlas method, which is applied to smooth exchange rate fluctuations.

Women, girls, men and boys are sensitized on gender stereotypes and harmful practices for the elimination of VAW in favor of respectful relationships and peace and security

A change in attitude and behavior has been noted in favor of the protection of women and girls in Senegal. Training sessions for service providers and activists have contributed to changing practices and improving the prevention of violence. Community involvement and the participation of men and boys have strengthened the community movement against violence. and harmful practices. The religious, customary and traditional leaders have amplified their voice against the violence, which has greatly reduced the violence in the areas with high prevalence, in other words, Ziguichor, Kédougou, Kolda, Tamba. UN Women in its support program for civil society organizations has revitalized the movement of leaders and activists who campaign for the respect of the rights of women and young girls.
