    Centralafrican state and stakeholders are better able to prevent violence against women and girls and deliver essential services to victims and survivors

    The Humanitarian needs Overview 2021 (HNO) has estimated at 1.2 million of people affected by the gender base violence. Also, a study conducted in the reporting year by UN Women in Central Africa Republic (CAR) has also estimated at 26.4 % the case of violence in the country during the last election process. In this context, UN Women in CAR contributed to eradicate the GBV through its strategic Note outcome Central African women and girls affected by the conflict in CAR play a role as actresses in community reconciliation and are supported for their recovery. Significant results have been targeted under the joint project “APPUI AUX VICTIMES ET AUX POPULATIONS CENTRAFRICAINES POUR ACCEDER A LA JUSTICE ET A LA VERITE” funded by the Peace Building Fund (PBF) and conducted with UNDP and the Ministry of justice. In the framework of this project, 09 communities’ early warning mechanisms are operational and has provided Holistic response to 714 GBV survivors and conflict-related violence in the reported year. A partnership with community radios to foster behavioral change for the prevention of GBV has been done. to the civil society, Also, a commitment at high level was marked by the promulgation of the presidential decree creating the committee of fighting violence against women in particular the sexual violence in conflict context. The office has conducted two studies to help identify gaps and improve the normative and institutional framework for the protection of human rights. One study is focused on determining the factors blocking access to justice for women victims of human rights violation and second one, focused on electoral violence and a diagnosis of discriminatory laws. The studies have involved the participation of the civil society and the UN Agency as UNDP, MINUSCA et the main actors of justice. The main challenge in the CAR context is the lack of resources face of needs to reduce the case GBV in the country.
