Complementary indicators are identified as those in the results framework that are not repeated verbatim in the results framework of another United Nations entity, but are related or provide different but complementary lenses or insights into the same issue, high-level result and/or area of complementary work, such as a Sustainable Development Goal target.
ComplementaryCommon indicators are those that appear verbatim the same in at least two entities' results frameworks and are drawn, where possible, directly from other globally agreed frameworks.

Outcome insights and achievements
Outcome progress note for the year
Favourable social norms, attitudes and behaviours are promoted at community and individual levels to prevent GBV
This was achieved as evidenced by number of women and community engagements showing that they are committing to favourable social norms and attitudes. Behaviour change has been more difficult to track. More than 22,300 subscribers to the !Pheza Channel have demonstrated commitment and are engaged in promoting favourable social norms and positive attitudes to prevent gender based violence. This is evidenced by the feedback through Opinion Polls and likes on the various articles on the Pheza Channel. UN Women launched the !Pheza platform to engage young people, especially on University and TVET campuses on gender based violence. This was achieved in partnership with Higher Health, young women and men and a reference group that contributed to the development of the idea. MTN is hosting the interactive platform on the Ayoba Channel which in 8 weeks at the end of December is rated among the top 10 Channels across Ayoba. UN Women provided financial and technical support to have the platform and is generating and or curating the content. See attached examples. 27 new tavern owners committed to champion positive masculinities and zero tolerance to violence in their premises as well as their communities which will lead to favourable social norms. This is despite that the HeforShe taverns programme was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic which led to shutting down of the taverns. At least 40 organisations are committed to collaborate to end gender based violence and are engaged with communities on respectful relationships. This has been achieved under the FBO Collaborative under the banner - Faith Action to end GBV. See link: https://sites.google.com/rapidresults.org/fbo-gbvf/home
Favourable social norms, attitudes and behaviours are promoted at community and individual levels to prevent GBV
Men in the 4 municipalities of Greater, Hammanskraal, uMgungundlovu, Emalahleni and Ehlanzeni; 2 cities of Nelson Mandela Bay, and Klerksdorp as well as Mamelodi town and Themba township in the 5 provinces of KZN, Eastern Cape, Northwest Mpumalanga, and Gauteng have been influenced to change their attitudes and behaviours around gender-based violence, unequal gender relationships and HIV. Through implementing partners, UN Women contributed to strengthening communities’ response to HIV & Aids and GBV by engaging men and religious leaders as agents of change to address negative social norms and gender stereotypes and leveraging the HeForShe campaign. The partnership with implementing partner SACBC, identified key sites for change (taverns, faith institutions, tertiary education institutions) in which to influence attitudes and behaviours around gender-based violence, unequal gender relationships and HIV. Four main strategies of Research and advocacy, development of toolkits, engaging communities and modelling social clubs were employed to influence change.
