By 2027, the UN system in CAR significantly contributes to progress on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls

Given that the Ministry of Gender Promotion suffers from poor mobilization and coordination capacities due to personnel and financial resource deficits, UN Women, through the Moungo Maboko project, is supporting the government of the Central African Republic to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. This involves providing institutional assistance to the Ministry of Gender Promotion, operationalizing the national observatory for gender parity, and supporting feminist organizations to strengthen their institutional capacities, resilience, coalition building, networking, and leadership at the national and regional levels. Set to be implemented in 2025, this project aims to: Rehabilitate and equip offices, train executives, purchase vehicles and motorcycles, and organize seminars. Operationalize the observatory: A national observatory on parity will be established to monitor progress on gender equality and conduct high-level advocacy actions. Mobilize the women's movement: The project will support the women’s movement in CAR to eradicate harmful traditional practices and promote gender equality. Improve political representation: The project aims to enhance women's representation in political bodies and combat electoral violence. Through these initiatives, UN Women will strengthen the government’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and the promotion of peace and social cohesion in CAR. UN Women will support the country to get : . National Strategy for the socio-economic empowerment of women and girls in the Central African Republic ; . law on parity between men and women ; . The Gender Parity Observatory .
